The Great Elephant Migration
Elephant Family USA, an International NGO dedicated to protecting the Asian elephant from extinction in the wild, engaged Cultural Counsel to promote its signature traveling exhibition, The Great Elephant Migration, which began criss-crossing the United States in the summer of 2024. A herd of 100 life-sized Indian elephant sculptures handcrafted from the stalks of an invasive weed, the project functions as a fundraising adventure, benefitting Indigenous and community-led conservation efforts as it travels across the US. Stops include Newport, Rhode Island; New York, New York; Miami, Florida; Blackfeet Nation, Montana; Buffalo Pastures in Browning, Montana; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Los Angeles, California.
Cultural Counsel has secured massive national, local, broadcast, and international coverage for the ongoing project in The New York Times, CBS Sunday Morning, Vogue, WNYC’s All of It with Alison Stewart, ArtNews, NBC, NPR, The New York Post, WWD, and more.
